About Rachel
Rachel B. Pavilack, ASID is the dynamic owner of Pavilack Design. Ms. Pavilack is an accomplished interior designer with more than 35 years of experience designing both commercial and residential environments. Prior to owning her own firm, Rachel was employed for 18 years at Burt Hill, an international architectural firm. She has also worked in New York City designing fashion showrooms.
A creative, highly experienced interior designer, Rachel strives to provide client satisfaction through innovative design ideas, exceptional attention to detail, resourceful problem solving and a strong work ethic. She has extensive experience with programming, space planning, design, and with the selection of interior finishes, lighting, and furniture.
Ms. Pavilack’s life has been devoted to art and design. Growing up in Western Pennsylvania, Rachel’s interests in art were awakened early on and continued to flourish during college in Washington, DC. Interior design was chosen as a way of giving expression to a passion for art. Rachel then sought out specialized studies, going on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts at the Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia. She is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and is certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ).
Rachel has received local and national recognition. Showing her work in its pages, Pittsburgh Magazine’s Home and Garden awarded her Honorable Mention in its Superior Interiors Contest for residential design. She has been selected as the first featured designer in Pittsburgh’s Home Design and Remodeling Resource Guide. While employed at Burt Hill, Ms. Pavilack was honored with the Ralph Burt Award for exemplary performance. In a New York City office of a prestigious Pittsburgh law firm, she exhibited current trends in law firm design which appeared in the national magazine, Lawyer. Rachel’s high tech design for a major advertising agency was featured in the Archi-tech, a national publication.
